Bangkok to be illuminated with Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2025

The Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2025 celebrates the close relationship between Thailand and India while showcasing Bangkok’s rich multicultural identity.

Hanoi (NNT/VNA) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is set to brighten the season with the largest Diwali celebration outside India through the “Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2025”.

The grand festivities will take place from October 16 to 31, 2025, across Bangkok’s Khlong Ong Ang and Phahurat districts.

A press conference announcing the event was held at the TAT headquarters, attended by TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Deputy Commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau Police Major General Krit Warit, and Deputy Director-General of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Department of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Rujira Arin.

The TAT Governor stated that the Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2025 celebrates the close relationship between Thailand and India while showcasing Bangkok’s rich multicultural identity. She added that through light, art, and shared traditions, the festival reaffirms Thailand’s position as a destination where culture unites people together.

The official opening on October 19 will feature a candle-lighting ceremony, a dazzling sound-and-light show, and a Thai–Indian Ramayana dance retelling The Triumph of Good Over Evil, Return to the City, and Festival of Light, ending with a vibrant Bollywood finale. The evening will culminate in the Grand Procession of Exquisite Radiance, a parade honoring Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha, with illuminated floats, dancers, and lanterns forming a river of light that celebrates the friendship between Thailand and India.

This year’s celebration embraces the theme “Light Unites Us”, using light as a symbol of life, hope, and renewal, while reflecting the enduring friendship between both countries. Visitors can immerse themselves in the festival’s vibrant atmosphere with dazzling illuminations, Thai–Indian cultural performances, a Bollywood-style parade, and mini concerts by popular artists.

To further enhance the festive experience, TAT will also launch the Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Privilege 2025 campaign, offering special benefits and promotions for tourists. The initiative supports Thailand’s goal of welcoming 2.5 million Indian visitors this year while promoting Bangkok as a leading destination for multicultural celebrations./.
