Binh Thuan (VNA) – The south-central province of Binh Thuan has stepped up efforts to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated houses, aiming to complete all planned repairs and new builds for poor and near-poor households by June 30, 2025, according to the provincial steering committee.
As of May 21, authorities had supported 824 out of 971 eligible households, including the complete delivery of 188 homes for people with meritorious service to the revolution. In total, 355 homes have been built and 469 repaired, using over 33 billion VND (1.3 million USD) in funds.
Under its plan, the province will build and repair 971 homes in 2025, including 188 for people with meritorious service, 695 for poor and near-poor households, and 88 for other disadvantaged families.
Efforts have been fully completed in four of eight districts, namely Phan Thiet, La Gi, Ham Thuan Nam, and Ham Thuan Bac. The remaining districts are accelerating progress to meet the deadline.
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hoai Anh emphasised this is a major policy of the Party and State. He called for stronger participation from all sectors.
Local authorities were urged to resolve any land-related or funding issues promptly, assign clear responsibilities, and closely monitor implementation to ensure timely support for all eligible households./.
