Hanoi (VNA) – “Economics - Defence Combination inthe Digital Technology Era” 2021 Exhibition - Exposition (VIDEX 2021), the first of itskind in Vietnam, is being held to promote the country’s innovations in militaryscience and technology.

Held from December 14 – 17, the hybrid event is organised bythe Ministry of National Defence in collaboration with the Ministry of Industryand Trade and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

It brought together more than 130 exhibitors, including bothmilitary and non-military companies and units. Military-run enterprisescomprise telecom giant Viettel, Thanh An Corporation, Vietnam HelicopterCorporation, MB Bank, 28 Corporation and others, while Vingroup, VinaPhone andVinaCafe are among non-military corporations.

In his opening remarks, Senior Lieutenant General Vu HaiSan, Deputy Minister of National Defence, said it is one of major andpioneering events to introduce the Vietnam People’s Army’s achievements andinitiatives in military science and technology.

He expected that the event will contribute to furtheraccelerating digital transformation of Vietnamese enterprises and governmentalbodies as well as the country at large.

VIDEX 2021 featured exhibitions and trade fairs, including avirtual exhibition showcasing Vietnam’s innovative military products ininformation technology, engineering, chemistry and medicine.

Exhibitions and trade fairs are planned to run virtually inup to six months./.
