Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi has set a goal of achieving an annual growth rate of 10.5-11% during the 2025-2030 period, focusing on bolstering traditional economic drivers while implementing innovative solutions to promote new ones.
At the 21st conference of the 17th Hanoi Party Committee on January 21, city officials presented a draft political report outlining their plans to accelerate public investment disbursement starting in 2025. This strategy is designed to leverage public funding to attract private and social investments, foster public-private partnerships, and stimulate both consumption and production.
Hanoi also plans to develop its tourism sector in a more professional and modern way, aiming to increase its global appeal and attract both domestic and international visitors.
Additionally, the capital city intends to prioritise advancements in scientific and technological development, innovation, and digital transformation. These areas are expected to serve as key drivers for modernising production forces, advancing digital governance, and promoting the digital government, digital economy, digital society, and digital citizenship.
By 2030, Hanoi envisions establishing a high-tech industrial sector with an emphasis on sustainable and specialised manufacturing.
The city also seeks to become a leader in science and technology transfer, as well as the application of advanced technologies in industry. It plans to reduce the reliance on outsourcing, while shifting towards in-house design and manufacturing capabilities.
During the conference, several important reports were also reviewed, including assessments of party building in 2024, leadership evaluations, financial reports, personnel reviews for the 2020-2025 term, and the progress of Resolution 18 issued by the 12th Party Central Committee, which focuses on streamlining the political system’s apparatus for greater efficiency./.
