Information collected to locate burial sites of martyrs fallen in 1968 Tan Son Nhat airport attack

Historical documents and domestic and international sources suggest that two mass graves may exist in the western end area of Tan Son Nhat Airport, where officers and soldiers sacrificed their lives in the 1968 historic battle.

Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh City High Command said on July 7 that it is coordinating with domestic and foreign agencies and units to collect information and locate burial sites of martyrs who died in the Tan Son Nhat airport attack on the night of January 30 and early morning of January 31, 1968 (the first and second days of the Mau Than Lunar New Year).

The command called on veterans who participated in or have information about the 1968 battle; former US and allied servicemen who operated in the airport area; martyrs’ relatives, residents, researchers and individuals holding relevant documents, diaries, maps, photographs or memories about the burial of martyrs to share information. All information, regardless of size, will be respectfully received, verified and kept confidential in accordance with regulations.

The same day, the Ho Chi Minh City High Command and relevant agencies collected DNA samples from Huynh Van Muoi and Huynh Van Nho in Tay Ninh province to verify their possible link to martyr Huynh Van Quen, whose remains were recently discovered at Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City. The sampling aimed to support DNA testing, comparison and identification of the remains./.

An Giang's teams conclude mission to recover fallen soldiers' remains

During the dry season, the teams searched 173 locations, excavated more than 130,246 cubic metres of earth and recovered the remains of 170 fallen soldiers, including 128 in Cambodia and 42 in An Giang province. They also identified one fallen soldier whose remains were found in Ba Chuc commune.

500-day campaign receives war memorabilia, martyr records

The donated materials include files on three martyrs’ personal belongings, burial records and maps identifying the graves of 21 martyrs at K76A Hospital, and decoded documents relating to Unit 962, linked to artefacts unearthed during excavation work at Le Thi Rieng Park in Hoa Hung ward.

Man jailed for smashing Nguyen Dynasty throne armrest

According to the indictment, Tam bought an admission ticket to the citadel around noon on May 24, 2025. Once inside Thai Hoa Palace, he climbed over a protective barrier, sat on the "Nguyen Dynasty Throne", and broke off the front-left armrest before striking the artifact further and shattering the broken section into multiple pieces.

Nearly 700 administrative procedures abolished

By the end of May this year, localities across had implemented simplification measures for 411 administrative procedures, including abolishing 86 processes, amending or supplementing 111 and retaining 214, contributing to improved efficiency of the State administrative apparatus as well as helping citizens and businesses.

Vietnam handles over 2.39 million traffic violations in H1
