Hanoi (VNA) – Budget carrier Jetstar Pacific announced on May 30 its new international air route linking Vietnam’s central city of Da Nang and Taiwan’s Kaohsiung city.

The airline will operate three round trips per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft to meet the travel demands of nearly 4,500 passengers a month. The flight’s duration will be 2 hrs and 15 minutes.

The first flights are scheduled to take off on August 10. Tickets for the new air route are currently on sale, starting from only 480,000 VND (20.05 USD) per leg. Tickets can be purchased at the website www.jetstar.com and ticket agents.

This is the second direct air route of Jetstar Pacific linking Da Nang and Taiwan, following the first to Taipei, which runs four times per week, said a representative of the carrier.

On the occasion, until June 2, passengers can buy tickets at 0 VND for some flights from August 10 to September 10, September 17 to October 1, and October 16-25.

Jetstar Pacific, a member of Jetstar Group, carried 6.2 million passengers in 2018, a 14.3 percent increase year-on-year.

It has grown from five aircraft in 2013 to 18 now, and flies 33 domestic and international routes to 185 destinations in 18 countries and territories.

The two major shareholders of the airline, Vietnam Airlines and Qantas Group, expect the fleet to grow to 30 aircraft by 2020.–VNA
