Key leader begins official visit to Singapore

Politburo member and Standing member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu's official visit reflects a new development in relations between the CPV and the People’s Action Party (PAP) of Singapore while creating an additional political foundation and momentum to deepen the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

​Singapore (VNA) – Politburo member and Standing member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and a high-ranking CPV delegation arrived at Changi Airport at August 24 noon (local time), beginning a two-day official visit to Singapore at the invitation of the Central Executive Committee of the People’s Action Party (PAP) of Singapore.

​Welcoming Tu at the airport were Singaporean Minister of State for Defence Desmond Choo, Director of International Relations at the Public Service Division Pragasam Christopher, Director-General of the Southeast Asia II Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zhou Suli, as well as Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh and his spouse, along with a large number of embassy officials and staff members.

During the visit, he will co-chair the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue between the CPV and the PAP. The two countries’ leaders agreed to establish this mechanism during General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and President To Lam’s state visit to Singapore in May.

The official visit holds special significance as it marks the first to Singapore by a Standing Member of the CPV Central Committee’s Secretariat. It also features the first meeting of the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue, with Vietnam being the first Southeast Asian country to establish a similar mechanism with the PAP.

It reflects a new development in relations between the two parties while creating an additional political foundation and momentum to deepen the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. It also demonstrates the determination of both sides to translate high-level common perceptions and agreements into concrete outcomes./.

Key leader pays tribute to President Ho Chi Minh in Singapore

As part of his ongoing official visit to the island nation, Politburo member and Standing member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and a high-ranking CPV delegation respectfully laid a wreath and observed a minute’s silence in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh, the founder of modern Vietnam, and his immense contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Vietnamese, Lao youth strengthen cooperation, solidarity

Luang Prabang has signed seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with its sister provinces in Vietnam.
