Tay Ninh (VNA) – Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei attended a ceremony to present and plant Vietnam–China friendship trees at the Ba Den Mountain national tourism area in the southern province of Tay Ninh on August 22.

At the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Van Han said the 100 parasol trees presented to Tay Ninh are not merely greenery but also carry a message of friendship, cohesion and cooperation between Vietnam and China.

According to the provincial leader, cooperation between Tay Ninh and Chinese localities, businesses and partners has expanded across a range of fields, particularly trade, investment, industry, agriculture and services.

Tay Ninh currently houses 2,181 foreign-invested projects with a total registered capital of approximately 26.64 billion USD. China ranks first in terms of both the number of projects and total investment capital, with 1,182 projects worth more than 11.3 billion USD, accounting for around 42.56% of Tay Ninh’s total foreign direct investment. Chinese-invested projects are concentrated in areas including electrical industry, garment manufacturing, industrial processing and manufacturing, agro-processing, real estate, logistics, warehousing, factory leasing and other services.

Han said the province hopes Chinese businesses will continue to expand investment, adopt new technologies, improve product quality, strengthen links with domestic enterprises, pay greater attention to environmental protection and fulfil their social responsibilities.

He affirmed that Tay Ninh will continue to accompany, support and facilitate investors, including Chinese ones, within the framework of Vietnamese law, enabling them to implement projects effectively, stably and over the long term.

For his part, the Chinese diplomat spoke highly of the province’s socio-economic development achievements, particularly its success in attracting Chinese investments. The growing presence of Chinese enterprises here demonstrates that bilateral cooperation has a solid foundation, with considerable potential and room for further development in a practical and effective manner, contributing positively to local development.

According to the ambassador, China’s leading position in Tay Ninh in terms of both the number of projects and total investment capital reflects that the province offers a favourable environment for cooperation with Chinese businesses.

Referring to the 100 parasol trees planted at the Ba Den Mountain national tourism area, He said they are first and foremost trees of friendship between Tay Ninh and China while also symbolising cooperation and development.
