Hanoi (VNA) - The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Secretariat on August 21 considered a proposal from the committee’s Commission for Inspection on disciplinary measures against Party members who committed violations.
The Secretariat found that Tran Quy Kien, former member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MoAE) and former MoAE Deputy Minister; Nguyen Van Dung, member of the Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the provincial Department of Science and Technology, and former Secretary of the Viet Yen district Party Committee in Bac Giang province (now part of Bac Ninh); and Nguyen Thi Gai, former member of the Party Committee of Dong Nai province, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Director of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation, have shown signs of deterioration in political ideology, morality and lifestyle.
They were also found to have violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities, as well as in preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness and other negative practices. They also breached regulations on things that Party members are not permitted to do and the responsibility to set an example.
Their violations caused very serious consequences, provoked public concern and severely affected the reputation of Party organisations, localities and agencies where they worked.
Taking into account the nature, seriousness, consequences and causes of the violations, as well as Party regulations on disciplinary action against Party members, the Secretariat decided to expel Tran Quy Kien, Nguyen Van Dung and Nguyen Thi Gai from the Party.
Competent agencies were requested to promptly enforce administrative penalties in line with the Party's disciplinary measures./.
