Lao citizens naturalised in Dien Bien northern province

As many as 76 Lao citizens have been naturalised in the northern province of Dien Bien under a decision signed by the Vietnamese President, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

- As many as 76 Laocitizens have been naturalised in the northern province of Dien Bien under a decisionsigned by the Vietnamese President, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The Ministry of Justice coordinated with the People’s Committee of Dien Bienprovince to hold a ceremony to hand over naturalisation certificates to beneficiaries,who had married Vietnamese people in the locality without marriage certificates.

The provincial People’s Committee asked the Steering Committee 2627, andrelevant agencies to complete procedures for granting family record books; marriagecertificates; and identity papers to those who are naturalised, aiming toensure their civil rights.

The Steering Committee 2627 is in charge ofoverseeing and guiding the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Decision2627/QD-TTg dated December 31, 2013 approving the plan on realising anagreement between the Vietnamese and Lao Governments on settling the issue ofunplanned immigrants and unregistered marriage in areas along the twocountries’ border.-VNA
