Mobile money service for people without bank account
Starting from today, November 22, customers can use phone accounts such as MobiFone and Vinaphone to conduct transactions such as payments, money transfers, and cash withdrawals at banks.
The service will be piloted until November 18, 2023, during which customers can use their phone accounts to conduct a range of different transactions.
MobiFone’s service is expected to make e-payments accessible to all, especially people in rural, mountainous, and remote areas. It is hoped to contribute to promoting cashless payments and boosting the growth of e-commerce, as well as speeding up comprehensive digital transformation.
60% of Vietnam’s population live in rural areas, while convenient means of payment are generally concentrated in urban areas. Mobile Money is therefore expected to help the country’s economy promote its potential in all geographical and economic areas./.
