–Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on April 6 signed a decision approving aplan on the implementation of the Vietnam-Laos agreement on mutual judicialassistance in civil matters.

Decision No. 285/QD-TTg aims to effectivelymaterialise the agreement, facilitate the handling of civil cases involvingforeign elements by competent agencies, and raise the efficiency of cooperationin the field between the two countries. Read full story

-Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son reaffirmed Vietnam's priorities whenparticipating in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), includingprotecting vulnerable groups, promoting gender equality and digitaltransformation, and ensuring human rights, while delivering his openingstatement at the 55th regular session of the council, which took place fromFebruary 26 to April 5.

- Therelationship between Vietnam and Japan is currently at the finest developmentstage, with a historical milestone being the elevation of bilateral ties to acomprehensive strategic partnership in November 2023, Deputy Foreign MinisterLe Thi Thu Hang told her Japanese counterpart Komura Masahiro during ameeting on April 5 in Tokyo.
