- President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Yoon Suk Yeol andhis wife Kim Keon Hee will pay a state visit to Vietnam from June 22-24 at theinvitation of President Vo Van Thuong. On this occasion, President Yoon SukYeol granted an interview to Vietnam News Agency. Read full story

-  Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, head of thePermanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, WTO and other internationalorganisations in Geneva, has affirmed Vietnam’s commitment to promotingsubstantive dialogue and effective cooperation with all member states and humanrights mechanisms of the United Nations at the interactive dialogue on theannual report of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR) on June 20.

In her speech, Ambassador Mai emphasised thatVietnam supports the fundamental principles of universality, fairness,objectivity, non-choice and non-interference in internal affairs of countries.Substantial dialogue and cooperation as well as adherence to theabove-mentioned principles is the most effective way to promote and protecthuman rights, she added. Read full story

- Vietnam on June 21 had its first gold medal at the SpecialOlympic World Games, which is taking place in Berlin, Germany, from June 17-25,after athlete Nguyen Chau Hoang Phuc triumphed in bocce, a ball sport closelyrelated to British bowls and French pétanque.
