The PM conveyed regards of Party General SecretaryNguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong and other Party and State leaders ofVietnam to the Chinese leader, and noted his wish that under the soundleadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), China will successfullyachieve its 2nd centenary goal, turning itself into a great modern socialistcountry that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmoniousand beautiful. Switzerland wishes to intensify bilateral cooperation, especiallyin the economy and trade, as well as works toward the signing of a freetrade agreement between Vietnam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA)to which Switzerland is a member. - A ceremony to repatriate the remains thought to be associatedwith a US servicemember missing in action (MIA) from the war in Vietnam washeld at Da Nang International Airport in the central city of the same name onJune 27.
At the ceremony, the 161st of its kind,representatives from the Vietnam Office for Seeking Missing Persons (VNOSMP)handed over the remains to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA). Read full story
- The Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy in thenorthern province of Thai Binh on June 27 received the first-class Labour Orderconferred by the Lao State in recognition of its contribution to training humanresources for the Lao health sector.
Addressing the award ceremony, Lao Ambassador to VietnamSengphet Houngboungnuang appreciated the outstanding achievements of theuniversity during its construction and development. More than 400 Lao medicalstaff have been trained at the university since 1969. After returning to theirhomeland, these doctors and nurses have actively contributed to improvingpublic health care.
