Hanoi (VNA) – The National Employment Exchange was officially launched on April 14, marking a major step forward in Vietnam’s efforts to modernise its labour market.
Positioned as a critical piece of national digital infrastructure, the platform (https://vieclam.gov.vn/) is designed to connect more than 53.6 million workers with nearly one million businesses nationwide, expected to help improve labour market transparency, strengthen data connectivity and advance the country’s digital transformation agenda.
The launch is a step to implement the Party and State’s major policies on science – technology development, innovation and digital transformation. The platform is aligned with Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/T on digital transformation, Government Resolution No. 71-NQ/CP, and key tasks under Project 06 as outlined in Prime Ministerial Directive No. 07/CT-TTg.
The platform is designed to deliver benefits to all the three pillars of the market – workers, businesses, and policymakers alike.
For workers, it expands access to employment opportunities nationwide while leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse user profiles and recommend jobs based on individual skills, experience and career aspirations. Users can create professional profiles, search for jobs and submit applications online with ease.
For businesses, the platform provides access to a large nationwide talent pool, helping employers reach suitable candidates more efficiently, reduce recruitment costs, and shorten hiring timelines.
For government agencies, the system offers real-time labour market data, enabling closer monitoring of employment trends, improving the delivery of employment services, and supporting the development of labour, employment, and social security policies.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Minister of Home Affairs Do Thanh Binh described the inauguration of the National Employment Exchange as a significant milestone in the modernisation and digital transformation of Vietnam’s labour and employment sector.
According to the minister, the system underwent extensive development and testing from May 2025, including rigorous assessments of technical performance, information security and system capacity. It now fully meets requirements for connectivity and data integration while ensuring absolute cybersecurity and information safety.
Binh said the National Employment Exchange serves as a key digital infrastructure project that will strengthen labour supply – demand matching and help ensure a transparent and efficient labour market operating in line with market principles.
As the technology partner behind the project, Huynh Quang Liem, General Director of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), said the company was honoured to contribute to what he described as a “nationally commissioned project”.
Liem noted that the system was developed with reference to advanced international models and is integrated with multiple databases managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and, particularly, the National Residents Database administered by the Ministry of Public Security.
The launch of the National Employment Exchange has received positive feedback from both domestic and foreign business communities.
Ko Tae Yeon, Chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (Kocham), described the platform as an important first step in modernising Vietnam’s employment service system.
Representing Vietnam’s manufacturing sectors, Le Hang, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), said the seafood industry is facing servere labour shortages as workers shift to sectors such as tourism, textiles, and services.
She noted that the National Employment Exchange, with its data concentration, interregional connectivity and real-time support capabilities, would become an important tool for businesses to recruit, allocate and stabilise their workforce more effectively, helping ensure uninterrupted production and supply chains./.
