Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese people in Indonesia onJanuary 23 gathered at the Vietnamese Embassy in the country to celebrate theupcoming Lunar New Year (Tet), the year of the Dog.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Hoang Anh Tuanreviewed the development of the country during the past year, as well as theVietnam-Indonesia cooperative strategic partnership, highlighting delegationexchanges at all levels, participation in multilateral and bilateral forums andboosting bilateral ties in trade, investment and culture.

He lauded the solidarity among the Vietnamesecommunity in Indonesia, hoping that they, including Vietnam’s representativeoffices, will continue contributing to the nation’s development and Vietnam –Indonesia ties.

The Embassy of Vietnam in Mozambique held a similarget-together in Maputo to celebrate Tet.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador to Mozambique Nguyen VanTrung highlighted the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnamand Mozambique, particularly in economics, trade and investment.

The Vietnam Buddhist Association was established inMozambique in 2017, the first of its kind in Africa, Trung noted.

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will hold the Vesak Festival inMozambique, Trung said, adding that construction of a Vietnamese pagoda will bestarted on an area of more than 4 hectares in Maputo in 2018.-VNA

Dak Lak supports fishermen in occupational transition

As of December 5, 2025, Dak Lak had 2,556 fishing vessels, with an annual marine catch of around 68,000 tonnes. An estimated 2,900 workers are in need of occupational transition, as most have limited educational backgrounds, unstable incomes and are increasingly ageing.
