- General Secretaryof the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong onJune 27 held phone talks with President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP)and Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

The phone talks took place on the occasion of the 71stfounding anniversary of the CPP (June 28) and the 55th anniversary of theestablishment of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties, and right after the successof the elections of the fifth-tenure commune and ward councils in Cambodia. Read full story

- The new-agecarrier Vietjet has officially announced its seven new routes connectingthe central coastal city of Da Nang with Singapore, the Republic of Korea(RoK), and India at the recent Da Nang Investment Forum 2022.

- The SARS-CoV-2Omicron sub-lineage BA.5 has entered Vietnam and may overwhelm the oldsub-lineage BA.2 which is dominant in the country, according to Prof. Dr. PhanTrong Lan, Director of the Health Ministry’s Department of Preventive Medicine.

PM orders focus on key tasks to ensure fulfillment of socio-economic development goals

The Government leader asked for urgent, serious, synchronous and effective implementation of projects, tasks, and solutions outlined in resolutions and conclusions of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, and the Government, especially a supplementary plan for socio-economic development in 2025, aiming for a growth rate of at least 8%.
