Reference exchange rate drops 16 VND at week’s start

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,403 VND/USD, and the floor rate 23,889 VND/USD.

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 25,146 VND/USD on October 6, down 16 VND from the last working day of the previous week.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,403 VND/USD, and the floor rate 23,889 VND/USD.

At 8:20 am, the opening-hour rates at major commercial banks also saw decreases.

Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 26,183 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,403 VND/USD, both down 17 VND from the October 3 morning session.

Meanwhile, the buying rate at BIDV stood at 26,203 VND/USD, up 3 VND, and the selling rate at 26,403 VND/USD, down 17 VND./.
