Jakarta (VNA) - A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Minahassa Peninsula, in Indonesia’s Sulawesi region, on early July 24, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said.
According to the GFZ, the quake was at a depth of 147 kilometres.
Meanwhile, the US Geological Survey said that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 jolted 109 km west of Gorontalo, Indonesia.
The epicentre, with a depth of 144.6 km, was initially determined to be at 0.44 degrees north latitude and 122.09 degrees east longitude./.
Magnitude 6.8 earthquake hits Indonesia
The epicentre was located to be about 177km west of Tual city in Maluku province. The USGS estimated the quake's depth at 66 km, while the BMKG reported a depth of 98km.
