Bangkok crowned world’s most-visited city for international travellers

Bangkok welcomed over 30.3 million international visitors this year, surpassing Hong Kong (China), London (the UK), and Paris (France).

Bangkok (VNA) – Bangkok has been named the most visited city by international tourists in the world for 2025, according to the Top 100 City Destinations Index 2025 report released by Euromonitor International.

Specifically, Bangkok welcomed over 30.3 million international visitors, surpassing Hong Kong (China), London (the UK), and Paris (France).

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), said that TAT continues to promote tourism with the aim of making Thailand one of the top destinations for global travellers in a sustainable way.

Also in the world’s 10 cities most visited by international tourists are Hong Kong (23.2 million), London (22.7 million), Macao (China) (20.4 million), Istanbul (Türkiye) (19.7 million), Dubai (the United Arab Emirates) (19.5 million), Mecca (Saudi Arabia) (18.7 million), Antalya (Türkiye) (18.6 million), Paris (18.3 million), and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) (17.3 million).

In addition, the “Top 100 City Destinations Index 2025” also ranks the top global tourist cities in terms of overall tourism attributes. The top five cities in the rankings are: Paris, known for its cultural prominence and environmental initiatives; Madrid (Spain), recognised for its leadership in sustainability and urban transport systems; Tokyo (Japan), the only Asian city in the Top 5, attracting visitors with a wide variety of travel experiences; Rome (Italy), gaining growth through the launch of luxury hotels and airport expansions; and Milan (Italy), a business and fashion hub with well-developed tourism infrastructure./.
