Tet gifts given to Bac Giang poor families

Thebeneficiaries are residing in Luc Ngan district’s Ho Dap and Phong Vancommunes where the rate of poor households remains as high as 50percent.

Deputy Prime Minister Ninh underlinedpoverty alleviation as an important policy of the Vietnamese Party andState, especially in mountainous and ethnic minority areas.

He asked local authorities to implement more effectively policies in the field to improve local living standards.

The same day, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) CentralCommittee Nguyen Thien Nhan granted 100 gift packages, each worth 1million VND, to low-income and beneficiary families in remote Ea Yiengcommune of Krong Pak district, Central Highland Dak Lak province.

He asked relevant agencies to help farmers change production customsand apply modern cultivating technology to increase productivity andlocal incomes, while raising public awareness of family planning.-VNA

The Government is recommending public employers arrange their working schedules to swap out working on Saturday, April 26, for the day off on May 2.In early April, workers in Vietnam will also enjoy a day off for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the third lunar month), which falls on April 7 (Monday).
