“Vietnam is deeply concerned about the risingviolence in Egypt which causes the loss of civilian lives,” said ForeignMinistry spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi at a regular press conference inHanoi.
“We called on relevant sides to exercise restraint,avoid escalation of violence and settle differences via peacefuldialogue so that Egypt will soon become stable and develop further,” hesaid when answering reporters’ queries about Vietnam’s stance on thecurrent situation in Egypt.
Earlier, Vietnamese Ambassador toEgypt Dao Thanh Chung told Vietnam News Agency (VNA) that the ForeignMinistry has directed the embassy to be prepared to begin evacuations ifnecessary.
At present, 79 Vietnamese citizens areworking and studying in Egypt, including 24 public servants andtheir accompanying families.-VNA
