Havana (VNA) – In an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, deeper cooperation and experience-sharing among legal systems, along with the effective implementation of international legal commitments, carry significant practical importance, Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Thanh Tinh said.

Addressing the plenary session of the fifth Cuba International Justice Forum, held from February 3–5, Tinh highlighted Vietnam’s experience and practical lessons in improving its legal framework to support national development.

He stressed that legal and judicial cooperation should serve as a key pillar for joint responses to global legal challenges, including cybercrime, migration, climate change, environmental protection and non-traditional security issues. Vietnam, he noted, stands ready to expand cooperation in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) and new development models, promoting mutual learning in law-making, legal reform and law enforcement to address shared global challenges for the common good.

The Cuban side expressed a strong desire to deepen cooperation between the two ministries of justice and the supreme courts, particularly in law-making and legal reform, digital transformation, international development cooperation and the exchange of practical experience. Cuban officials also highly valued the technical assistance project for the Cuban Ministry of Justice, agreed by the two governments in August 2025, aimed at enhancing capacity in law-making and law enforcement.

Both sides underlined that the 2026–2027 judicial cooperation programme reflects the continuity and continuous development of the long-standing traditional partnership between the two ministries, contributing to the special, steadfast and enduring solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba.
