Hanoi (VNA) – On the occasion of its 80th traditional day (September 15, 1945 – 2025), the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on September 14 launched a website dedicated to the 14th National Party Congress, a major event for the entire political system that is scheduled for early 2026, marking an important step in affirming the national news agency’s key role in providing information on Party congresses.

Providing diverse, attractive information

As a trusted strategic information provider for the Party and State, as well as a leading multimedia organisation, the VNA has developed numerous websites covering major events and key issues in Vietnam and worldwide. Among these, the website on the 14th National Party Congress (https://daihoidang.vn) is one of the largest, delivering authoritative, comprehensive, and timely information about all activities leading up to the congress.

Available in six languages (Vietnamese, English, French, Russian, Spanish, and Chinese) and featuring five media formats - text, photo, video, graphics, and data, the website enables journalists, researchers, and the public to stay updated on Party congresses at all levels, access historical data, and easily search information about all previous national congresses.

Nguyen Duc Vu, Director of the VNA’s Technical Centre, explained the website targets three main groups - domestic and international press agencies; the public; and researchers, with the interface tailored accordingly.

Building on previous Party congress coverage, especially the 13th Congress, the website affirms the VNA’s key role in delivering information on Party congresses. Developed using advanced technology by VNA units, it features a formal, modern design with high interactivity across computers, tablets, and smartphones. Beyond up-to-date news on local congresses and the 14th National Party Congress, it hosts a comprehensive database archiving all key data from past congresses at all levels. This multilingual, multimedia database based on official sources serves domestic readers and foreign news agencies, facilitating collaboration and sharing of accurate and timely information, Vu emphasised.

Comprehensive, accurate, and timely information

The website includes sections on implementing the Party’s major strategies, highlighting key resolutions ushering Vietnam into a new era such as Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; Resolution No. 59 on international integration in the new situation; Resolution No. 66 on innovating law making and enforcement; and Resolution No. 68 on private economic sector development.

A dedicated section covers directions from the Party Central Committee and its Politburo and Secretariat, and decisive leadership by General Secretary To Lam across sectors.

This showcases the VNA’s strength in providing reliable, official information on domestic and international affairs. Tran Ngoc Tu, head of the VNA’s Domestic News Department, noted that supported by 34 local representative offices, the department has produced diverse, innovative content aligned with Party directions.

Since the beginning of 2025, over 1,000 news pieces have reflected instructions of Party and State leaders on organising Party congresses nationwide, including ministries, central and local agencies, and grassroots units. Opinion features have gathered views from Party members, former leaders, and experts contributing to national development through Party documents and key resolutions. This coverage is widely used by media and updated automatically on the website, offering readers reliable, comprehensive, and timely information.

Personnel data from nearly 150 Party organisations across four central-level and 34 provincial-level organisations - covering over 1,200 individuals - has been meticulously gathered. The accuracy and authority of information on personnel in Party committees for the 2025-2030 and 2026-2031 terms are evident. This reflects the efforts of reporters in charge of ministries, central agencies, and 34 local VNA bureaus, underscoring the VNA’s commitment to accuracy, authoritativeness, and responsiveness, said Tu.

Vast, logical, and easily searchable data repository

Combining text, photography, video, graphics, and data, the website allows journalists and the public to trace the history of all national and local Party congresses, culminating in the 14th National Party Congress. Information is visually presented and logically organised, blending archival and current data for convenient access and research.

Pham Thi Phuong Thao, Director of the VNA’s Information and Graphics Centre, highlighted the centre’s role in storing important information. Housing nearly 31 million archival items since the VNA’s founding, the centre provides systematically organised data, offering a comprehensive overview of portraits and archives of the Party President and General Secretaries, Party Congresses and their documents, and local congresses for 2025-2030. Featuring thousands of other materials spanning the Party’s 95-year history, this forms a priceless documentary treasury - the website's key highlight.

For the first time, the VNA compiled a personnel database for nearly 150 Party organisations featuring over 1,200 individuals, with concise, continuously updated information before, during, and after the 14th Congress. This was made possible by close coordination among departments including Domestic News, Economic News, the Photo Editorial Board, 34 local bureaus, the Information and Graphics Centre, and the Technical Centre. Together, they ensure the website offers accurate and timely information about the 14th Party Congress, reaffirming the VNA’s status as the national news agency and a reliable strategic information hub.

Moreover, the Information and Graphics Centre actively supplements, updates, verifies, and audits data to provide comprehensive and accurate information meeting media and public needs, Thao added.

Looking ahead, to meet demands for accurate, comprehensive, objective, rich, and dynamic information on the 14th National Party Congress, the VNA will continue equipping the website with new features and regularly update news and data, supporting the effective popularisation of this key political event./.
