Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Popularisation and Education Commission and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung attended the 10th Congress of the ruling Revolutionary Party of Tanzania (Chama cha Mapinduzi - CCM) on December 7-8.

The congress, which gathered nearly 2,800 domestic and international delegates, reviewed the implementation of the 9th Congress’s Resolution in 2017-2022, and discussed orientations for party building and national governance in the new tenure. 

President Samia Suluhu Hassan was re-elected as Chairwoman of the CCM.

In his speech at the opening of the congress, the Vietnamese official congratulated Tanzania on its achievements under the CCM's leadership in recent years, affirming that Vietnam attaches importance to and wishes to promote the traditional relations between the two parties and nations.

The Vietnamese delegation met with CCM President Samia Suluhu Hassan, and had working sessions with Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Stergomena Lawrence, and Minister for Information, Communications and Information Technology (MICIT) Nape Moses Nnauye. 

During the meetings, the two sides discussed specific measures to strengthen the bilateral relations across fields, especially in information, communication and IT. 

As part of the trip, the delegation had working sessions with the Vietnamese Embassy and Halotel joint venture of Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) in Tanzania./.
