An additional of 38 Vietnamese labourers, who were working in thecoastal city of Misrata in northwestern Libya, were evacuated to Tunisiavia the Ras Adjir border gate on September 1.
The Head of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs’ WorkingGroup, Nguyen Duc Nam, said the workers had been dispatched to Libya tounder a contract between SONA Co.Ltd and Misrata General ConstructionCompany (GCCM).
The two companies have helpedthem make custom procedures and travel arrangements to Tunis, thecapital city of Tunisia for their flights back to Vietnam.
As of September 1, there are still 222 Vietnamese workers working inLibya, Vietnamese Ambassador to Libya Dao Duy Tien said.
As scheduled, SONA will work with Libya’s SAMA Construction Companyto evacuate another 46 Vietnamese workers via Tunisia on September 3.
The remaining labourers, who work on constructionsites in Misrata city, Brega city, Nalut province and Ghadamis oasistown, will be sent home soon.-VNA
