– The Politburo’s Resolution 79-NQ/TW on developing the state-run economic sector and Resolution 80-NQ/TW on advancing Vietnamese culture aim to reinforce material and spiritual internal capacity, affirming the resolve to build an independent, self-reliant, dynamic, and efficient economy deeply integrated into global markets while building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity, said Party General Secretary To Lam.

– Science, technology and innovation must be the foundation to fulfil the country’s double-digit growth in the coming time, stated Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, head of the Government’s Steering Committee on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06, while chairing the committee’s first meeting of 2026 on February 25.

– Special Envoy of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam, Politburo member, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, paid a courtesy call on Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on February 24 as part of his Russian visit to brief the host side on the outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the CPV.
Welcoming Trung, Putin held that General Secretary Lam’s re-election as the CPV's chief reflects the strong confidence of the Party and Vietnamese people. The Russian President expressed his belief that under the leadership of the CPV, headed by General Secretary Lam, Vietnam will successfully implement its strategic priorities, usher the country into a new era of strong and sustainable development, and fulfil the set goals. – Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on February 25 signed an official dispatch, ordering urgent preparations for the fifth inspection by the European Commission (EC) and reaffirming Vietnam’s determination to have the “yellow card” warning on its seafood exports removed.
The official dispatch, sent to relevant ministries and coastal localities, noted that over the past nearly eight years and four previous inspections, Vietnam has yet to have the warning related to illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing lifted. The EC's inspection delegation is expected to visit Vietnam for the fifth time in early March. – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued a directive urging ministries, sectors and localities to swiftly resume work after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, focusing on facilitating production and growth, and ensuring stability, security and social welfare amid complex global developments.
Amid complex and unpredictable global developments with intertwined opportunities and challenges, the PM ordered ministries, agencies, localities, and related organisations and individuals to resume work promptly after the holiday, handle tasks decisively, and uphold an action-oriented approach that emphasises innovation, efficiency, time-saving, and the mobilisation of public and business resources. – France’s public investment bank Bpifrance has recently ranked Vietnam among the five most promising export destinations for French companies in 2026, alongside Indonesia, Morocco, Canada and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Amid volatility in global trade flows, a large share of French exporters still gravitates toward familiar markets such as Germany, the US and China.
