-PresidentNguyen Xuan Phuc received Governor of South Australia state Frances Adamson inHanoi on November 9.

Congratulating Australia and the state on theirdevelopment achievements, Phuc thanked the Australian Government for itsdecision to increase official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam,describing it as a valuable support to help boost socio-economic development inremote areas in the Southeast Asian country.Read full story

-Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung hada working session with Cambodian Minister of Post and Telecommunications CheaVandeth in Phnom Penh on November 8, seeking ways to strengthen bilateralcooperation in the fields of post, telecommunications, and digitaltransformation.

In the session, held within the framework of the ongoingofficial visit to Cambodia by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the two ministersbriefed each other on the situation, management policies, strategicorientations, opportunities and challenges in developing digital infrastructuresystem and promoting digital transformation in their countries.Read full story

-The 10thConference of ASEAN Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (ASMAM-10) took place inHanoi on November 9 under the chair of Colonel Nguyen Le Phuong, DeputyDirector of the Institute for Defence International Relations under theVietnamese Ministry of Defence. 

In his opening remarks, Colonel Duong Quy Nam,Director of the Institute for Defence International Relations emphasisedthe increasing important role of non-commissioned officers in cooperation betweenthe armies of ASEAN countries, saying that the force  directlyparticipates in not only combat operations but also activities to respond tonatural disasters and epidemics. Read full story

-The southernprovince of Ba Ria – Vung Tau’s rescue force coordinated with representativesof the Sri Lanka Consulate General in HCM City to receive over 300 Sri Lankannationals who were saved by a Japanese cargo ship after their boat faced aserious incident in the waters off the Vietnamese locality on November 8. Read full story

- Vietnam is having advantages in the Britishmarket, and Vietnamese exporters know how to utilisethem, a diplomat has said.
Vietnam is among the very few countries that havesigned a free trade agreement (FTA) with the UK, Nguyen Canh Cuong, TradeCounsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK, told the Vietnam NewsAgency (VNA), adding that Singapore and Vietnam are the only Southeast Asiannations to reach such deal.Read full story

-A delegation of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group(Petrovietnam) led by Chairman of Members' Council Hoang Quoc Vuong had aworking session on November 7 with representatives from relevant agencies ofAlgeria to speed up the implementation of the second phase of a tripartitejoint venture project at the Bir Seba field in the African country. 

The joint venture of Petrovietnam ExplorationProduction Corporation (PVEP) under Petrovietnam, Thailand's PTT Explorationand Production Public Company and the national state-owned oil company ofAlgeria - Sonatrach Group was established in 2009 with total investment of 1.26billion USD. Read full story

-Along withseeking partnership in the UK and Europe, Vietnamese travel firms andlocalities attending the World Travel Market (WTM) in London from November 7-9have promoted the image of Vietnam as an attractive, friendly and safedestination for international tourists.

The Vietnamese pavilion covers 250 sq.m, spreadingthe message “Live fully in Vietnam” to the event, which draws about 5,000businesses from 182 countries and 51,000 visitors.

-The sixthHanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF VI) opened on November 8 evening,featuring 125 films from 56 nations and territories, including 45 of Vietnam.

With the theme "Cinema - Humanity, Adaptationand Development", the festival, jointly held by the Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi People’s Committee, aims to honour excellentinternational and Vietnamese cinematographic works with high artistic value,imbued with humanity and creativity in cinematic language.Read full story/.

Vietnamese Vice President meets with Georgian leaders

Kavelashvili said Xuan's visit is expected to consolidate political trust, deepen mutual understanding and propel ties across all levels and sectors. Defence, security cooperation is an important pillar of Vietnam–Laos ties: PM

Expressing his pleasure at the positive development of the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, the PM highlighted defence and security cooperation as an important pillar of the bilateral ties. He praised the two defence ministries and armies for implementing high-level agreements, strengthening mutual trust and helping maintain a peaceful and stable environment conducive to socio-economic development.

Vietnam, Cambodia sign defence cooperation plan for 2027

Giang called on agencies and units of the two defence ministries to implement agreed cooperation programmes, focusing on political and ideological education to strengthen political trust, and cooperation between military services and arms. The two sides should step up coordination in border management and protection to build a Vietnam-Cambodia border of peace, cooperation and development.

Deputy PM visits China’s Tsinghua University, seeking closer educational cooperation

Tsinghua has worked to implement the Vietnamese and Chinese leaders’ orientations for higher education cooperation. Last year, it admitted 27 Vietnamese students and postgraduates, the highest number to date, all of whom received scholarships. The university also hosted the second Vietnam-China Higher Education Cooperation Forum, helping promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries’ educational institutions.
