Phnom Penh (VNA) – The General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat Meeting between Cambodia and Thailand kicked off on December 24, said Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence.
This meeting began at 16:30, in Prom-Pak Kard Permanent Border Checkpoint, between Pailin province, Cambodia and Chanthaburi province, Thailand.
The Cambodian delegation was led by Gen. Nhem Boraden, Chief of the Cambodian GBC Secretariat, and the Thai delegation was headed by Gen. Nuttapong Praokaew, Chief of the Thai GBC Secretariat.
This meeting is scheduled from December 24 to 26, 2025, under the observation of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) of Cambodia and Thailand.
In this meeting, both parties will discuss and exchange documents to prepare for the upcoming 3rd Special GBC Meeting, scheduled to be held on December 27, to ensure the cessation of hostilities and find solutions to restore stability between the two countries, as well as to facilitate a swift return to normalcy. /.
