Charity programme supporting handicapped, orphans launched

The launching ceremony for a charity programme aiming to raise funds to provide assistance to the handicapped, orphans and Agent Orange victims on the occasion of the Lunar New Year was held in Hanoi on February 4.

Themed “ Spring for the world of children”, the event wasco-organised by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), the Associationin Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans (ASVHO), the TTVprogramme, and the “Beloved Four Seasons” fund under the Hanoi OlympiaSchool.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of ASVHO Nguyen DinhLieu expressed his hope that the programme will give generousindividuals and organizations in Vietnam and internationally theopportunity to alleviate burdens faced by the disadvantaged groups.
