Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh offered warm wishes to the General Confederation of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) and its head Pastor Thai Phuoc Truong ahead of the Christmas holiday during her visit in Ho Chi Minh City on December 20.

She extended Christmas wishes to Protestant dignitaries and followers, congratulating the confederation on its strong growth of nearly 1 million followers in over 2,000 chapters nationwide.

Thinh thanked them for standing side-by-side with the Party and State and wished that Protestant dignitaries and followers would continue the sense of unity to contribute to the nation.

Truong, for his part, thanked leaders of the Party, State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee for providing support for Protestant followers to join religious activities, adding that since the Law on Belief and Religion took effect earlier this year, Protestants’ religious activities have expanded across the nation.

He pledged to continue calling on Protestant dignitaries and followers to actively contribute to national development. –VNA
