Hanoi (VNA) – The Ho ChiMinh Communist Youth Union (HCM CYU) has recently launched a contest toencourage young people to launch agricultural start-ups.

The contest aims to build start-upspirit among young people, as well as create a favourable climate for ruralyouth start-ups, especially in high-tech agriculture.

Standing Secretary of the HCM CYUDoan Nguyen An voiced his hope that the contest will attract many contestantsacross the country, thus helping Vietnamese youths participate in theagricultural sector and drawing more investment from domestic and foreignbusinesses.

Vietnamese people aged from 18 to 35,with start-up projects in agriculture, including cultivation, animal husbandry,seafood, forestry, preservation and processing industries, among others, areeligible for the contest.

The 60 most outstanding projects willqualify for the next round of the contest called “Building start-up project”. Inthe second round, contestants will receive training and meet with economicexperts and successful entrepreneurs.

The 10 best projects will enter thefinal round and will feature in newspapers and the HCM CYU’s website.
