Da Nang (VNA) – More than 6,000 business connections between domestic and foreign travel companies are expected to be made at the second Da Nang International Tourism Festival – one of the largest networking events in Vietnam’s tourism industry.

The two-day festival, which kicked off on October 16, is jointly organised by the Da Nang Tourism Association and HorecFex Vietnam. It aims to create a platform for trade, cooperation, and professional tourism promotion, contributing to Da Nang’s goal of becoming the region’s leading tourism and event centre.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association (VTA) Vu The Binh said 2025 is a pivotal year for Vietnam’s tourism sector, as the country aims to welcome 25 million international visitors.

In this context, the festival stands out as a key highlight, reflecting the determination and creativity of Vietnam’s tourism business community, he stated.

According to Binh, the VTA highly values Da Nang’s efforts in organising such a large-scale event that successfully connects more than 120 international buyers, 200 domestic buyers, and over 150 service providers.

Strengthening Da Nang’s tourism brand

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tan Van Vuong said the event takes place in the context of the merger of Da Nang city and Quang Nam province, opening up a new space for tourism development and creating sustainable momentum for the central region.

Notably, the central city has continued to earn recognition on the global tourism map — honoured as Asia’s Leading Festival and Event Destination, ranked among the top 10 Asian cities with the highest visitor return rate, and listed among the world’s 50 most attractive destinations.

Hoi An city, now part of the expanded tourism area after the merger, was also ranked sixth among the world’s 25 most beautiful cities in 2025, further consolidating the position of the Da Nang–Quang Nam tourism region as Vietnam’s new international tourism hub.

Themed “Growing and Breaking Through,” the festival has attracted more than 300 exhibitors, over 180 domestic travel companies, and 110 international buyers from key markets such as Thailand, the Republic of Korea, China, Russia, India, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Western Europe.

Notably, the event drew nearly 2,000 participants, including representatives from travel companies, hotels, restaurants, service providers, and tour guides, offering a wealth of practical opportunities for cooperation and business expansion.

According to Vuong, the festival provides an important platform for local enterprises to stay updated on the latest industry trends, share experiences, and strengthen international partnerships.

He went on to say that the event is expected to become an annual highlight, fostering investment cooperation, the development of green and smart tourism products, and advancing Da Nang’s goal of becoming Asia’s leading festival and event city in the coming years.

In the first nine months of 2025, Da Nang’s tourism industry recorded impressive growth, becoming a bright spot in the city’s economy. The total number of visitors reached more than 14.4 million, up 22% year-on-year, including over 5.8 million international arrivals, an increase of more than 31%. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel services hit around 44 trillion VND (1.67 billion USD), up 25%, contributing significantly to the local budget./.
