Da Nang (VNA) - The French monitoring frigate Vendemiaire docked at Tien Sa Port in the central coastal city of Da Nang on November 4, beginning its five-day visit to Vietnam.

The ship crew of 99 officers and sailors, led by Captain Daniel Lopez, is scheduled to meet with leaders of the municipal People’s Committee and the Military Command, and the High Command of Navy Zone 3.

They will also participate in joint training activities and a friendly volleyball match with Vietnamese counterparts as well as visit several historic sites in the region.

As part of the defence cooperation plan signed between Vietnam and France in 2015, the visit is expected to enhance the bilateral defence ties, in line with the two countries’ policy to promote the bilateral strategic partnership.-VNA
