Hanoi (VNA) - A delegation of the Party Committee, People’s Council,People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi on April 22 laidwreaths at Vladimir Ilyich Lenin’s statue in Lenin Park, on the occasion of his149th birthday (April 22, 1870).

The delegation was led by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal PartyCommittee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang.

This is an annual activity of Hanoi officials to commemorate Lenin, one of themost eminent political figures and revolutionary thinkers of the 20th century.

Lenin masterminded the Bolshevik take-over of power in Russia in 1917. He wasthe architect and first leader of the former Union of Soviet SocialistRepublics (USSR).

He was also a great teacher of workers worldwide.

Also on the day, representatives from the city’s agencies and organisationslaid flowers at the statue of Lenin.-VNA
