Quang Nam (VNA) – The Hoi An Memories show, which debuted on March 18at Hoi An Impression Theme Park in the central province of Quang Nam, has settwo Vietnamese records.

Theevent set records as the country’s largest ever outdoor visual arts performanceand the daily show with the most actors ever.

TheVietnam Record Organisation (VietKings) recognised the show’s records on March19.

The colourful and musically dazzling night show, with a cast of nearly 500actors and actresses, recalls the memories of Hoi An as a prosperous tradingport over 400 years.

The theatre uses the waters of the Hoai River as its 25,000-sq.m stage alongwith state-of-the-art lighting technology and sophisticated sound effects, saidDao Quang Tung, a representative of the show producer.

More than 100 girls in Ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) on stage tellthe story of the charming beauty of Vietnamese women and the lives of locals.

It took nearly two years to produce the one-hour show which runs every nightand is expected to attract more than 3,000 guests per show, he said.

The show is part of a creative cultural and arts programme that aims tointroduce the culture and history of historic Hoi An town to tourists, saidhistorian Duong Trung Quoc, a member of the show’s consulting team.

This contemporary art form, which has been performed in many countries, increasesthe number of night entertainment activities for tourists when they visit HoiAn, Quoc said.

The show is a key component of the Hoi An Impression Theme Park that will openin the second quarter of this year. The 10-hectare theme park in Hoi Anincludes indoor and outdoor theatres, shopping and entertainment complexes, and200 hotel rooms.-VNA
