KOICA supports Vietnam in waste recycling

The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Hanoi University of Technology (HUT) on August 14 signed a project on strengthening the HUT’s research capacity in waste recycling technology.
The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the HanoiUniversity of Technology (HUT) on August 14 signed a project onstrengthening the HUT’s research capacity in waste recycling technology.

Accordingly, the Republic of Korea (RoK)Government will provide through the KOICA 1.5 million USD innon-refundable aid to Vietnam in the 2013-15 period to build arecycling technology development centre completed with research andanalytical equipment.

In addition, the agency will also transfer waste recycling technology to Vietnam .

Vietnam has set the target of recycling 85 percent of solid wasteunder the national environmental protection strategy by 2020 with avision to 2030.-VNA

Ca Mau approves investment policy for waste-to-energy plant

The waste-to-energy plant is planned for construction in Dat Moi commune, covering a total area of about 20 hectares. It will have a waste treatment capacity of approximately 600 tonnes of household waste per day and a power generation capacity of 6MW.

Hanoi to launch 5,000 public electric bicycles

In a move to reduce air pollution and promote green mobility, Hanoi has approved a plan to deploy 5,000 public electric bicycles, alongside restrictions on petrol- and diesel-powered vehicles in the city’s central area.
