- State President Luong Cuong received Cho Hyun-sang, Chair of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) 2025 and Vice Chairman of the Republic of Korea’s Hyosung Group, along with ABAC members representing the 21 APEC economies on July 15.

- State President Luong Cuong attended the Hai Phong Investment Promotion Conference in the northern port city on July 15, during which he affirmed that the event conveys a message of Vietnam’s proactive approach to comprehensive integration, its development aspiration, and its strong commitment to improving the investment environment.

The conference, themed “Hai Phong – Strategic Gateway to the New Era”, is held within the framework of the third meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC III). - Vietnam is willing to share its resources, human capital, and sci-tech expertise with countries that have similar climatic and soil conditions, supporting them in developing OCOP products and advancing sustainable agriculture, stated Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.

Ha made the remark on July 15 while hosting a courtesy reception for a delegation of agriculture ministers and senior officials attending a high‑level inter‑regional forum on the One Commune – One Product (OCOP) model, jointly organised by Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO). - The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has initiated anti-circumvention investigations into disposable aluminum containers, pans, trays and lids imported from Vietnam and Thailand, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The investigation is being carried out on suspicion that these products used aluminum foil manufactured in China and then completed in third countries to circumventing the antidumping duty and countervailing duty orders on aluminum containers from China. Read full story

- A business roundtable between Ho Chi Minh City and Astana of Kazakhstan took place on July 15 to discuss cooperation for the development of the Vietnam International Financial Centre in the country's southern economic hub.

- Phu Quoc has made its mark in international media by being named among the top five destinations most loved by international tourists, according to a survey by Agoda.

According to Agoda’s report, Phu Quoc surpassed Hoi An, a longtime top draw for international visitors, to get into the top five most-searched destinations in Vietnam during the first half of 2025, trailing only behind Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, and Hanoi. Notably, Phu Quoc ranks second among favorite destinations for Korean travelers, just behind Nha Trang, and third among Chinese tourists./. Read full story
