At a meeting on June 7 (New York time), the UNGAelected the President and Vice Presidents of the UNGA’s 77th session. Vietnam,representing the Asia-Pacific, was elected to the Vice Presidency and willserve in this post for one year, starting on September 13, 2022.

Vietnam, Cambodia step up defence cooperation

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said his country values defence cooperation with Vietnam, pledging to support and facilitate Vietnam’s efforts to locate and repatriate the remains of the volunteer soldiers. He also expressed his support for Vietnamese defence enterprises effectively operating in Cambodia.

Brazilian President begins state visit to Vietnam

President Lula da Silva is the first foreign head of state to pay a state visit to Vietnam in 2025. This is also the second time he has visited Vietnam as the head of state, after the first time in 2008.
