Hanoi (VNA) – The following is a list of selected news summaries reported last night by the Vietnam News Agency.

- Vietnam and Jordan have great potential to deepen cooperation not only for the benefit of their people but also for the interests of ASEAN and the Middle East, Party General Secretary To Lam said on November 12 during his meeting with King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.

Welcoming the King at the Party Central Committee’s headquarters in Hanoi, General Secretary Lam said this is the first-ever head-of-state-level visit between Vietnam and Jordan, taking place at a very meaningful time as the two countries celebrate the 45th anniversary of their diplomatic ties (1980–2025). - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man on November 12 held a meeting with King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, who is on a two-day official visit to Vietnam.

Welcoming King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and his entourage, Chairman Man said the visit, which takes place on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Jordan (1980–2025), marks an important milestone and opens a new stage of deeper and more effective cooperation between the two countries.Read full story

- State President Luong Cuong held talks with King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Hanoi on November 12, during which the two sides agreed on measures to bring bilateral ties to a new phase of development.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who is on a two-day official visit to Vietnam, in Hanoi on the afternoon of November 12.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued Official Dispatch No. 214/CD-TTg, urging localities in the central region to assess storm and flood damage and expedite recovery efforts.

The PM instructed Secretaries of Party Committees and Chairpersons of the People’s Committees of Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak to review and accurately assess the need for food, shelter, and essential goods, and to provide timely assistance to affected households, particularly those whose homes were destroyed or severely damaged, policy-beneficiary families, and those facing hunger or hardship. - The 20th theory seminar between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held in the northern province of Ninh Binh on November 12 under the theme “The path and practice of socialism in the 21st century.”

The CPV delegation was led by Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theory Council, and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, while the CPC delegation was headed by Li Shulei, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee’s Secretariat, and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee. Vietnam, US enhance cooperation in education - training

Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh urged to embrace modern urban governance

According to Government proposals submitted to the legislature, Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh cities will be formed based on the respective natural areas, populations and numbers of commune-level administrative units of the two provinces. Both proposals meet all five conditions stipulated in the Law on Organisation of Local Administration No. 72/2025/QH15 and all seven criteria for establishing centrally-run cities under Resolution No. 112/2025/UBTVQH15.

Vietnamese Party leader attends funeral service for top Lao legislator

The Party leader stressed that the passing of NA President Xaysomphone is a great loss to the Lao Party, State and people, while Vietnam has also lost a great friend and a close, loyal comrade who had always held deep affection for the country, offered valuable support, and worked tirelessly to nurture and consolidate the Vietnam-Laos great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion.

Party General Secretary and President To Lam begins state visit to New Zealand

Over more than five decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations on June 19, 1975, Vietnam and New Zealand have continuously worked to build a solid foundation for the bilateral ties.
