Hanoi (VNA) - The following is a list of selected news summaries reported last night by the Vietnam News Agency.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh addressed the annual Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) 2025 in Hanoi on November 10, underscoring the spirit of “solidarity for strength, cooperation for mutual benefit, and dialogue for trust building”.

PM Chinh said GDP growth is projected to exceed 8% this year, with average growth of 6.3% for the 2021-2025 period. Vietnam leapt 37 places to 46th in the World Happiness Report 2025. Socio-political stability has been firm, with about 1.1 quadrillion VND (42.3 billion USD) allocated for social welfare. National defence-security has been reinforced, while external relations and global integration have expanded. Vietnam has established comprehensive and strategic partnerships with 38 countries, including all five permanent members of the UN Security Council and 17 G20 economies, and has signed 17 free trade agreements with major global partners. - The 15th National Assembly (NA) approved a resolution on the election of Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Standing Vice Secretary of the NA Party Committee and an NA deputy, as Vice Chairman of the 15th NA on November 10.

The vote, part of the parliament's ongoing 10th session, saw 412 out of 412 deputies in attendance approve, representing 100% of those present and 86.92% of the full legislature. Read full story

- The 15th National Assembly, during its 10th sitting on November 10, adopted a resolution approving the proposal of the Chairperson of the National Election Council (NEC) on the appointment of several Vice Chairpersons and members of the council.

All 435 deputies present at the session voted in favour, accounting for 91.77% of the total number of NA deputies and 100% of those in attendance. Read full story

- Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang hosted a reception for Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in Hanoi on November 10, during which both sides expressed satisfaction with the fruitful outcomes of the 15th Vietnam – India Defence Policy Dialogue held earlier the same day.

Giang highlighted the great potential for cooperation between the two countries and called on the defence ministries to further promote friendship, mutual understanding, and trust, making bilateral defence ties more practical and effective. Read full story

- Secretary-General of the National Assembly (NA) and Chairman of the NA Office Le Quang Manh on November 10 launched an electronic portal at http://hoidongbaucu.quochoi.vn, which supplies information about the elections of deputies to the 16th NA and all-level People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 tenure.

Built under an NA Standing Committee resolution, the platform, developed by the NA Office, the Committee for Deputy Affairs and Viettel Group, is also accessible via the NA’s official website at http://quochoi.vn. Read full story

- Border guard stations in the northern province of Lang Son coordinated with Chinese border forces and local authorities to conduct a legal awareness campaign for residents living along the shared border from November 7–10.

During the four-day programme, thousands of leaflets were distributed, covering topics such as border management agreements and protocols, the agreement on regulations for management of the Vietnam–China land border, immigration and customs laws, border gate management, and measures to combat smuggling and trade fraud, as well as the importance of safeguarding national sovereignty and border security. - The State Audit of Vietnam (SAV) and the Spanish Court of Audit agreed to continue promoting the implementation of their existing cooperation agreement, through exchanges of high-level delegations and specialised working groups on topics of their expertise and mutual interest.

Top legislator calls for strict discipline to further enhance quality of NA operations

Minister of Foreign Affairs receives Japan’s Tochigi Governor

PM suggests acceleration of Laos–Vietnam University establishment

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the two sides should strengthen the teaching and learning of Vietnamese and Lao in both countries, including introducing Vietnamese as an optional foreign language in Lao schools, while continuing academic exchanges and programmes on tradition education to nurture the special bilateral relationship, he said.
