Lang Son (VNA) — Border guard stations in the northern province of Lang Son coordinated with Chinese border forces and local authorities to conduct a legal awareness campaign for residents living along the shared border from November 7–10.
During the four-day programme, thousands of leaflets were distributed, covering topics such as border management agreements and protocols, the agreement on regulations for management of the Vietnam–China land border, immigration and customs laws, border gate management, and measures to combat smuggling and trade fraud, as well as the importance of safeguarding national sovereignty and border security.
The bilingual Chinese–Vietnamese leaflets were jointly compiled by competent forces from both countries, featuring vivid illustrations to help residents better grasp the information.
Lieutenant Colonel Vi Van Duy, Deputy Political Commissar of the Tan Thanh Border Guard Station under the Lang Son Border Guard Command, said the campaign helps residents stay informed about newly issued legal regulations.
Currently, around 1,000 people visit Tan Thanh each day for immigration procedures, so raising public awareness of import–export and immigration laws is essential, he said, adding that the campaign aims to foster a sense of self-discipline and legal compliance among border residents on both sides.
The legal dissemination activities were held in response to Vietnam’s Law Day on November 9, while also strengthening cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese competent forces and building a border of peace, friendship, and development./.
