Hanoi (VNA) - The following is a list of selected news summaries reported last night by the Vietnam News Agency.

- The 14th plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee from November 5 – 6 completed its agenda with high consensus and good outcomes, serving as an important preparation for the 14th Party Congress and reaffirming the Party’s commitment to ongoing renewal and strengthening of the political system, providing a solid foundation for national development in the new period.

The meeting concentrated on issues related to the 14th Party Congress and Party and political system building. It also outlined specific requirements and important directions for further strengthening and innovating the Party's leadership methods in the future. Read full story

- Vietnam will ensure macroeconomic stability and a supportive regulatory environment, pledging all possible support for investors to thrive, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assured a delegation from the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), who is in Vietnam for the 2025 SEMIEXPO, during a reception in Hanoi on November 6.

The meeting drew 32 executives from SEMI and its members that represent 3,700 companies across the global semiconductor supply chain. Read full story

- A Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang attended the Second World Summit for Social Development that was held in Doha, Qatar, from November 4-6.

Speaking at the event, Hang affirmed that the Copenhagen Conference in 1995 was a call for strong action, but global progress has not been not sustainable when more than 800 million people are still living in poverty, youth unemployment is high, and inequality in education and employment persists, especially for vulnerable groups. - The Vietnam Innovation Summit 2025 (VIS 2025) opened on November 6 in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme “Building Bridges To Innovation and Growth.”

- Foreign arrivals in Vietnam neared 17.2 million during January-October, up 21.5% year-on-year, signaling momentum heading into year-end peak season, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism reported on November 6.

During the 10-month period, air arrivals dominated at 14.6 million, or 84.9% of the total, up 21.8%. Land entries rose 21.4% to 2.4 million (13.9%), while sea arrivals climbed 8.5% to 205,100 (1.2%). Read full story

- Vietravel Airlines has launched a programme to provide free transport of relief goods to central localities affected by recent natural disasters.

Under the programme, essential supplies such as food, medicine, and clothing will be carried on the airline’s regular flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang (SGN – DAD) and Hanoi – Da Nang (HAN – DAD) from November 4 to 20. Read full story

Top legislator calls for strict discipline to further enhance quality of NA operations

Minister of Foreign Affairs receives Japan’s Tochigi Governor

Trung suggested that Tochigi continue to effectively implement signed agreements and further strengthen cooperation in areas that can create new development momentum for Vietnam, such as science and technology, digital transformation, innovation, and the training of high-quality human resources.

PM suggests acceleration of Laos–Vietnam University establishment

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the two sides should strengthen the teaching and learning of Vietnamese and Lao in both countries, including introducing Vietnamese as an optional foreign language in Lao schools, while continuing academic exchanges and programmes on tradition education to nurture the special bilateral relationship, he said.
