Reference exchange rate down 6 VND on May 19

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,259 VND per USD on May 19, down 6 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily referenceexchange rate at 23,259 VND per USD on May 19, down 6 VND from the previous day.

With thecurrent trading band of  +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercialbanks during the day is 23,956 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,561 VND/USD.

The openinghour rates at some commercial banks saw a strong decline.

At 8:25 am,Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,220 VND/USD and the selling rate at23,430 VND/USD, down 20 VND from the same period on May 12.

BIDV also reducedboth rates by 20 VND, listing the buying rate at 23,250 VND/USD, and theselling rate at 23,430 VND/USD.

Meanwhile, Techcombankrevised down both rates by 26 VND, listing the buying rate at 23,234 VND/USD,and the selling rate at 23,434 VND/USD./.
