Vietnam earned 754 million USD from exporting 258,000 tonnes of rubber in the first four months of this year, according to the General Department of Customs.

The figures show a rise of 30.4 percent in volume and a drop of 12.9 percent in value compared with the same period last year.

In April alone, the country shipped 45,000 tonnes of rubber worth 130 million USD overseas.

Statistics released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development forecast that Vietnam will export more than 930,000 tonnes of rubber this year, up 14 percent against last year.-VNA
