Thach That suburban district to become green satellite area

Thach That district on the outskirts of Hanoi will be developed into a satellite area and green urban corridor, spread over 18,000ha, by 2030, said the city's Department of Urban Planning and Architecture.

The Lien Quan township will be the district centre for political and economic affairs and trade.

Nguyen Minh Hong, Vice Chairman of Thach That district's People'sCommittee, said the development plan will foster the implementation ofthe New Rural Model and take advantage of the area's strength.

The National Institute for Urban and Rural Planning, the planningconsultant of the project, said that the future Thach That district willinclude areas specified for agriculture, forestry, urban parks andgreen spaces between villages.

The project plan also paysgreat attention to environment protection in craft villages in thedistrict, while also supporting their sustainable development.-VNA
