Bangkok (VNA) – Thai Redshirt leader Jatuporn Prompan was detained by soldiers on February 2.

The arrest occurred several days after the Redshirt group announced a boycott of the new constitution drafted by the military government.

Jatuporn is being kept at the First Region Army barrackson Ratchadamnoen Avenue in Bangkok for interrogation, said Weng Tojirakarn, a Redshirt core activist.

The soldiers came to the Peace TV studio, where Jatuporn works as a show host at 11 a.m., and invited him away.

The military have not offered any explanation for the arrest to date.-VNA
