Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific add over 134,000 seats for Tet holidays

Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific have announced that they will add more than 134,000 seats on domestic flights serving the peak Lunar New Year (Tet) season between January 20 and February 19.

Hanoi (VNA) – VietnamAirlines and Jetstar Pacific have announced that they will add more than134,000 seats on domestic flights serving the peak Lunar New Year (Tet) season betweenJanuary 20 and February 19.

Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines hasplanned to include more than 54,000 extra seats, while Jetstar Pacific will addover 80,000 seats.

The figures brought the twocarriers’ total number of holiday seats to nearly 2.1 million.

The seats will be added mainly tohigh demand routes between Hanoi to/from Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc island;and between HCM City to/from Da Nang, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hue, QuangNam, Quy Nhon, and Da Lat.

According to Vietnam Airlines,passengers’ demand for the HCM City-Thanh Hoa, HCM City-Hue, and HCM City-QuangNam routes during the period have increased by 75, 41, and 32 percent, respectively,compared to off-peak season.

During this high season,passengers are advised to get tickets from official websites and agencies, useonline and kiosk check-in services, and follow baggage regulations.

The 2019 Lunar New Year holidayswill last from February 4-8, which means it will span nine days including thetwo weekends.–VNA
