Vientiane (VNA) – The Vietnamese Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation and the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) will maintain close coordination to effectively realise the agreements reached between the two countries’ Party leaders.

The consensus was reached at a working session in Vientiane on October 28 between Vietnamese Party Central Committee’s Politburo member and head of the Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai and LFNC Central Committee President Saysomphone Phomvihane.

The two sides reviewed their bilateral cooperation and the affiliation between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the LFNC.

They also discussed measures to bolster ties and exchanged experience in and orientations for the two Parties’ mass mobilisation work in the time ahead.

Communication activities will be stepped up to educate the two peoples, especially younger generations, about the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, the officials noted.

Also on October 28, the fourth theoretical workshop between the two Parties continued for the second day.

Participants shared the view that over the three decades of reforms, the two Parties and countries have attained enormous achievements amidst international integration.

They compared viewpoints on the key issues regarding international integration, including the Parties’ leadership over integration; improving the economy’s competitiveness; ensuring national independence, political stability and social order and safety; defence, security and culture; the Party’s external activities; and Party building work.

The outcomes of the workshop are important for theoretical research agencies of Vietnam and Laos to advise their Parties on mapping out guidelines and policies on and directing international integration.-VNA
