Vientiane (VNA) – A vibrant year-end gathering brought warmth to the Vietnamese community in Laos as it took place in Vientiane on December 28.

Organised by the Vientiane club of Vietnamese from Hue, the event was part of a series of celebrations welcoming the Lunar New Year 2025. It also attracted representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, the General Association of Vietnamese People in Laos, and the Vietnamese People's Association in Vientiane.

Addressing the event, Nguyen Dinh Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee at the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, lauded the Vientiane club of Vietnamese from Hue for fostering solidarity and mutual support to develop the community.

He also highlighted their role in promoting the Vietnamese culture, particularly the heritage of Hue, along with the identity of the Vietnamese community in Laos.

These efforts have significantly contributed to the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, Ha added.

Club Chairman Dang Thuan emphasised that with solidarity and mutual support, the club in particular and the Vietnamese community in Laos in general have made unceasing efforts to weather every difficulty and develop economic activities.

He also commended their practical initiatives such as supporting those in need, which have reinforced community ties and helped individuals overcome hardships.

Local authorities expressed strong support for the event, recognising it as a platform for building cohesion within the Vietnamese community and fostering contributions to Laos’ socio-economic development.

At the gathering, participants enjoyed traditional Vietnamese dishes, shared stories, and celebrated the enduring bond between the two nations. The event fostered solidarity and optimism as attendees look ahead to 2025 with renewed determination and pride./.
